Ralph’s Greenhouse is distinguished by having been Certified Organic since Washington State started its organic program in 1988. Ray de Vries is the current owner of the farm and continues to maintain and develop sustainable practices. He says, “We don’t own the land, it is simply our turn to take care of it.” They maintain the land with their own compost composed of leftover vegetables and manure from a nearby dairy farm, covering crops, crop rotation, and also use a water recycling system for washing their produce.
