Organic Produce

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) has national standards for the use of the word “organic” so consumers don’t have to play a guessing game when it comes to organic produce. Consumers buying organic products, whether produced in the United States or imported, can be assured that organic farmers are required to adhere to specific soil and water conservation methods. In addition, certified fruits and vegetables are produced without pesticides, herbicides, irradiation or bioengineering. Pacific Coast Fruit Company understands our part in maintaining organic handling standards by following strict procedures, which ensures we deliver our organic products free from contaminants.

  • Our organic products are stored separately from conventional produce.
  • Our staff abides by proper preparation and product handling such as washing their hands and changing gloves and aprons before touching organic produce.
  • Organic produce is never re-boxed in conventional produce boxes.
  • Chemical agents are not stored adjacent to organic produce.
