Social Responsibility

While other companies reduce expenses by eliminating employee benefits, Pacific Coast Fruit Company values our employees as members of our family and we provide some of the most socially conscious benefits packages in the industry. We believe strongly that our investment in people is the cornerstone of a healthy company and a thriving local community. That’s why we invest in our community by supporting a variety of organizations and research institutions that share our desire to promote sustainable farming, better business practices, food safety and a thriving local community.

Food Alliance Certification- In 2009 Pacific Coast Fruit Company became a Food Alliance Certified Distributor. Food Alliance is a third-party certification organization for social and environmental responsibility in agriculture and the food industry. In order to be certified, organizations must provide safe and fair working conditions, recycle waste and reduce the use of toxic and hazardous materials. Food Alliance Certification makes sense for us and for the community because it sets a high standard for socially and environmentally sustainable business practices. Pacific Coast Fruit Food Alliance Certification

Project Community Care- Each year we participate in Project Community Care, a program that helps improve and clean up the buildings and grounds of local schools.

Oregon Food Bank- Healthy communities are those that support every member and we assist Oregon Food Bank in supporting members of our community that need a helping hand. Each year Pacific Coast Fruit donates over 312,000 pounds of produce to help feed hungry Oregonians.
